As a result, the inhibitory effect is absent: the tissue continues to grow, symptoms worsen, and the disease progresses. The interplay of estrogen dominance and progesterone resistance is considered a central driver of endometriosis.
Why Conventional Therapies Often Only Address Symptoms
Hormone therapies such as the pill or GnRH agonists suppress estrogen production, thereby reducing the activity of the lesions. They are effective but can cause side effects such as hot flashes, bone density loss, and other menopausal-like symptoms, which limit long-term use.
