What symptoms the test evaluates

PMS (premenstrual syndrome) manifests physically and emotionally – typically, symptoms appear in the second half of the cycle and subside with menstruation. The test asks about, among other things:

  • Irritability, mood swings, inner restlessness
  • Breast tenderness and water retention
  • Cravings, especially for sweets
  • Headaches, sleep problems, fatigue
  • Abdominal cramps and digestive changes

PMS or PMDD?

If emotional symptoms are particularly severe and significantly impact your daily life, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) could be the cause. Learn more in our PMDD guide. A self-assessment does not replace a medical diagnosis.

What really helps with PMS

The most well-documented approaches are exercise, good sleep, stress reduction, and a balanced diet. At the nutrient level, Vitamin B6 and Magnesium have been particularly studied around the menstrual cycle – both are found in Hormonic Base, supplemented throughout the cycle with Cycle+. An overview of suitable formulas can be found in our PMS collection.

Unsure if it's PMS? Our doctors would be happy to assess your symptoms in a free initial consultation.

This self-assessment is for guidance only and does not replace a medical diagnosis or treatment.

Hormonic Base: the nutrient foundation for your cycle

Hormonic Base provides vitamin B6 and a magnesium complex of bisglycinate, malate, and citrate – the micronutrients most studied for PMS. B6 contributes to the normal regulation of hormonal activity, and magnesium contributes to normal psychological function. Can be combined with Cycle+ throughout your cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions about the PMS Self-Test

How do I know if I have PMS?

A typical characteristic of PMS is that physical and mental symptoms regularly occur in the second half of the menstrual cycle and subside with the onset of menstruation. A cycle and symptom diary kept over two to three cycles can reveal this pattern. Our self-assessment can help with an initial classification.

What is the difference between PMS and PMDD?

PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) is a particularly severe form of PMS, primarily emotional, that significantly impacts daily life. If you experience severe psychological symptoms, you should seek medical evaluation.

Beide stecken in Hormonic Base.
